Since its humble beginnings as a small stall started by Masaji Watanabe in 1924, Edomasa has been grilling delicious Yakitori, skewered chicken, in the heart of Tokyo's Chuo Ward, near the historic Ryogoku bridge.
This bridge was built in 1659 and has served as a bustling hub of activity, attracting people and goods, and fostering a rich cultural heritage that includes the beloved sport of Sumo wrestling. Edomasa's reputation for mouthwatering Yakitori and high-quality ingredients quickly spread, captivating loyal customers and even celebrities.
After nearly a century of success in Tokyo, Edomasa is expanding to San Francisco. The goal was to create a beloved restaurant loved by the local community. With Edomasa’s century of experience, the skilled artisans at Edomasa continue to evolve their craft, offering an unforgettable Yakitori experience.
Inside the restaurant, the original counter from the old food stall era is preserved, reflecting Edomasa's rich history. Guests can enjoy the authentic flavors that have delighted patrons for generations. Sharing our culinary heritage with the world is a dream come true for Edomasa, and we are excited to create unforgettable dining experiences for everyone who visits.
